You will have to forgive me writing this as it came through in a meditation and although it may not be relevant to everyone, reading this it is still a valid question.
The theme for this weeks blog is Surrender. But hopefully not in the way that we often think it should play out, as one of the paths of the heart is via our own direct experience.
In historical India, if you were to write about a subject, you would never think about putting your name to the text as this would imply that you had written the piece. Instead, all writing was deemed as a direct revelation of the Divine spirit.
This sadly is no longer the case as now when Masters and Gurus put pen to paper they tend to attach something of their egoic nature to the work and feel that what has been written has come purely from their own creative self.
I, me, mine.
This separation from Spirit or a higher power guiding and nurturing our thoughts and actions has come to be as we have embraced more and more the age of self, and consequently disassociation from our source. Why would we acknowledge something outside of ourselves if we can create our own reality?
That’s not to say that this is no longer happening, it’s just that instead of recognizing it we put greater emphasis on us than anything else.
Here is something for you to try if you feel so guided.
For one day work with all and every impression, thought, desire and emotion that comes to the mind. Anything that motivates you to do something, as being not yours alone, but as coming from a higher source.
Try not to judge or consider too much about the process and just let it take place.
So often the analytical mind can get in the way and slow or halt the flow of energy, so try and just be!
The reason I chose the word “surrender” is that control has taken us far away from our true reality and that firstly conceiving of a higher power and then placing everything within It/He/She, may be our only way back into an understanding of our true nature and ultimate reality?
Surrender is removing ourselves from the equation and truly experiencing the Divine flow of love that is always present. Sometimes it can be like a trickle that we cannot perceive of, but then to open our heart without reservation and feel the full force, the awakening is beyond description.
So don’t think that surrender is the whole answer. It isn’t, it is just part of it.
Balance in all things is crucial, you just have to see how far in one direction you lean to avoid looking in the mirror of life!
As I have said in the past, it may not be easy, but the reward can be immense.
Doing this work is its own blessing.
