The summer of 2019/20 was a shocker, with bushfires in several states in Australia and loss of life, habitat and homes on an unprecedented scale. Community support was amazing and donations and offers of help came from around the globe.
Sometimes apart from donating money it’s hard to make a contribution. As a homeopath the logical thing seemed to write about ways to cope and how to treat shock and smoke inhalation, as well as how to give remedies to animals. Having a busy practice, and time being of the essence, I recently updated an earlier blog Accidents & Emergencies.
Then about a week later a lovely colleague from the USA shared a blog she had written when they had wild fires themselves in California.
With her permission I’m sharing it here as it has great information and I always think “why re-invent the wheel”.
Thanks to Gabrielle Traub of San Diego Homeopathy and her colleague Samantha Conboy for this great article.
Our thoughts go out to all of you that have been affected by the fires. Here are some simple aids that can be used for yourself, your family, your children and your animals. Pass this on to anyone whom you think needs help. Most of these remedies can be found at your local health food store. As always always seek professional medical care without delay if any situation requires medical attention.
As always seek medical attention in an emergency and consult your homeopath if your home prescribing is not bringing good results quickly or the situation is complex.

Homeopathy is a traditional medicine. It may be used in conjunction with other medicines. For any ongoing chronic condition, it is important to be assessed or examined by your healthcare professional or specialist. Always seek medical advice in emergencies.
