Ruta has been traditionally used for rheumatic and connective tissue problems, particularly of the knees, wrists and ankles and contusion of the bone, similar to Arnica. It may help with symptoms of stiffness and pain in the joints and limbs with bruised weakness and weariness and may be indicated after blows and fractures, surgery to bony areas and dental surgery.
It may assist with acute bursitis and tendonitis, often with effusion. Chronic overuse or injury to tendons causes fibrosis and nodular growths, especially common in the wrists and it may be helpful for ganglions.
Ruta may also be helpful for eyestrain.
