Description

Our Bites & Stings combination has been around for a couple of decades and contains a selection of homeopathic remedies traditionally used to assist with symptoms that might arise after a bite or sting.

This might be from insects such as ants, bees, wasps, jack jumpers and similar. It might also be from a sea creature or some other stinging animal.

Symptoms might include itching, swelling, burning, stinging, hives or a rash.

These symptoms may also arise after eating, for example, shellfish or peanuts.

The remedy could be used alongside an epi-pen and may be helpful to support the patient while enroute to medical care.

The remedies can help reduce the symptoms and bring relief in any situation where such a reaction has been experienced.

The remedy does include one of the main remedies for cystitis, which may present with similar symptoms as the above.

Remember to look for a remedy for the overall picture (itching, swelling, burning, stinging, hives or a rash), rather than the diagnosis itself (bite, sting).

Dosage for Remedies

These notes are a general guide.

Homeopathy is not an exact science and while we can offer general suggestions as to how to give the remedies, each case will be a little different in terms of how often a remedy may be required to bring about improvement.

With homeopathics, because we are working with energy, not substance, we want to give just enough to stimulate the body to do the job. If your remedy works brilliantly with the first dose, you don’t need to repeat unless the symptoms appear to be coming back again.

Drops

Our products are made up according to traditional homeopathic pharmacy protocols and include a small amount of pure alcohol as a preservative.  You can read the FAQ here on alcohol in remedies.

For newborns,  if you do not wish to put the drops in the mouth, you may apply to the soles of the foot or the top of the head. You can also purchase drops and add a spray top to your order, so that you can spray the remedy onto the soles of the feet. The remedy will work just as well whichever way you use it.

Babies under 6 months – 1 drop or 1 spray

Babies 6-12 months       – 2 drops or 1 spray

12 months and above   – 4 drops

Organic German Sucrose

Give 1 or 2 pilules per dose regardless of age.

Crush between 2 clean teaspoons if you are giving to a baby and you are uncomfortable with giving whole.

Sometimes the pilules can look wet. This is due to the nature of the organic sucrose. The alcohol – which is the remedy applied to the pilules – will evaporate off as you use your remedies. They should not stick together and this does not affect the effect of the remedies.

Tissue Salts

If you have selected a single tissue salt remedy or a combination, the general suggestion is to take three times a day for up to three months (as per Dr Schuessler’s advice). However, we would expect you would see improvement much sooner than this, likely as soon as a couple of weeks.  If you have taken for one month with no obvious difference, choose another tissue salt or consult your homeopath.

Bottle Sizes

10g pilules: approximately 110 pilules

30ml drops: approximately 120 doses at 4 drops per dose

50ml drops: approximately 200 doses at 4 drops per doses

Our homeopathic remedies and kits are suitable for the management of self-limiting and minor ailments and illnesses and not for the home treatment of chronic, ongoing or serious conditions or named diseases. If symptoms are intense we suggest giving every 10 minutes for up to 5 doses.

This may be on your way to medical care of the hospital and can be used alongside the use of an epi-pen or similar device!

If symptoms improve during the 5 doses above, reduce to hourly and then two hourly as symptoms improve further.

If symptoms persist or are recurrent and you are giving very frequent doses over a number of hours or days, contact your healthcare provider or homeopath for more individualised remedies to strengthen the whole system and reduce susceptibility.
