This years Travel Prep is similar to a mix which was part of a study by the World Health Organisation in 2020 and based on a version created by Hibernia Labs (CueVir (Prevengho-Vir)) but fitting what is going on now with the currently circulating situation and what we know have been key elements of our own support remedy over the years.

This also aligns with the information shared by colleagues about what is currently most indicated in the northern hemisphere and which in the past has filtered through to the southern hemisphere over the previous autumn and winter.

Travel Prep may be updated annually.

Travel Prep came out of an increasing need for travellers to support their health while travelling in enclosed spaces, such as planes and trains, and hanging around in airports and stations where bugs abound!

It was originally created as a winter support remedy, but became so useful not just in winter but at all times of the year, we now have a travel-specific version.

In addition to providing support, the remedy can be used as a management remedy, ie to support the system should symptoms arise.

Why Travel Prep?

Colds and other illnesses seem to get worse each winter and with overseas travel this means they are circulating all year round as we have seen.

Over the past decade I’ve found Anas Barb 200c, a commonly used traditional remedy, to work particularly well. However, more recently it became evident the remedy wasn’t working for everyone, and particularly during travel which can challenge us with change of environment and stress, as well as unfamiliar bugs!

In 2013, after two very challenging winters in Australia, we took time to research and consult with homeopaths around Australia and in the northern hemisphere and came up with a suitable combination based on this information, combining remedies which have traditionally been used at these times. We have continued to refine this remedy most years in line with annual global situation.

Travel Prep contains remedies which have traditionally been indicated to support some of the situations we may experience during travel and seasonally, particularly when travelling overseas.

Ongoing or recurrent illness such as colds, coughs, flu, tonsillitis, etc should be assessed by a registered homeopath as the underlying weakness needs to be addressed. If remedies do not work or do not work well, this is the time to consider individualised treatment of the whole person for better long term health outcomes.

May be used as a support instead of Anas Barb 200c if prone to colds and similar illness.

May be used alongside over-the-counter products as appropriate.
