Sulphur has traditionally been used for the relief of the symptoms associated with dry, scaly skin conditions that are worse from bathing and the warmth of the bed.
We don’t recommend self-prescribing for skin conditions, but rather consult with your homeopath if you choose to try Sulphur and have no improvement in a week or two. There are many many remedies for skin conditions and individualisation is key. Less is more in homeopathy, so continuing a remedy that isn’t working, will not bring healthy change.
Sulphur may also be helpful during menopause to assist symptoms such as flushes, and the discomfort of haemorrhoids.
It is a remedy that is indicated for colds, loose coughs and other ailments with dirty yellow or green mucous
It may be helpful for loose stool with offensive wind, burning pains and urgency, and is very often worse early morning.
It can be useful after antibiotics for upset tummy, thrush or nappy rash. Big skin remedy (eczema, psoriasis) but do not self-prescribe!
People needing Sulphur will usually be warm-blooded with red nose, ears, lips.
Worse for heat, bathing, hunger.
Better for open air, sitting, leaning, free drainage of discharges.
Always seek medical assistance in an emergency and for a fever in a child under 6 months old.
