This little kit of 10 remedies offers support for surgery and procedures with remedies included to help reduce anxiety and aid the recovery process.
A medical procedure, particularly an unplanned surgery such as a caesarean section or an accident can be very stressful.
In the case of a planned surgery it may be stressful for the whole lead up, so there is more time for anxiety and anticipation about what is to come, how the medical team are going to be and how the recovery will go. Sometimes it’s a stressful and anxious process for the family who anticipate the outcomes and await the news.
Much surgery these days, for example hip or knee replacements, is scripted and well planned, and the process generally goes smoothly. For those who are not comfortable with taking medications or are fearful of the process, it can be overwhelming, particularly when presented with the before and after instructions and the take-home pack of drugs.
Homeopathy can be such a great support during these times and a little preparation beforehand can go a long way to reducing anxiety and help enormously with the recovery process.
Here’s a post we wrote on the topic, which covers a broader range of remedies.

Pilules are always easy to throw into a hospital bag or handbag, however, there are situations where a patient may be unconscious or the surgeon may specify nil by mouth. In this case drops are going to be best because they are easy to apply to pulse spots such as wrists or temples, or just on the lips.
Remedies for surgery, procedures and healing are always best taken orally and have their best action this way. Creams may be difficult to apply and some should not be applied to an open wound or where the skin is grazed or broken.
See under ‘Nil by Mouth’ for how to administer pilules if you need a liquid remedy and don’t have one.
Usually we say to give the remedy until the symptoms settle and repeat if they reappear. Since this can make for a bumpy ride in the treatment of acutes, my recommendation is to give your doses quite frequently to start with – hourly or even every 10 minutes for up to 5 doses if the situation is quite intense.
Once things settle down you can reduce to hourly, 2 hourly and then 3 or 4 times a day if you feel the same remedy is still required.
For bruising or surgery to bones, eg knee or hip replacements, dental surgery, you may need to repeat remedies like Arnica or Ruta for a few days to a week or more.
We know that homeopathics don’t interact with conventional medicines because of the way they work, so no, they are not going to interact. Your surgeon may not be keen on you having anything for 24 hours after your op and in this case, where that timeframe is super important for best outcomes, you can apply your remedy (or a family member can) to any pulse spots, eg wrists, temples, or even just wet the lips with the remedy.
Likely you will have nil by mouth before surgery or a procedure and probably for a little while afterwards, so drops can be a good option. You can put the drops on the pulse points, temples, top of the head or around the lips.
You can also add your pilules (1 or 2 pilules) to ¼ glass of water or a water bottle, stir vigorously or shake, then do the same as above. If that’s not possible, just crush a pilule and apply where it seems appropriate.
Remember we are working with something that has a unique energetic frequency, so it’s a bit like being in contact with a mobile phone, rather than taking a pharmaceutical drug. The remedy works dynamically which is why it will often work quickly.
We’ve selected the 10 most generally useful remedies for a range of surgeries and procedures.

These notes are a general guide.
Homeopathy is not an exact science and while we can offer general suggestions as to how to give the remedies, each case will be a little different in terms of how often a remedy may be required to bring about improvement.
With homeopathics, because we are working with energy, not substance, we want to give just enough to stimulate the body to do the job. If your remedy works brilliantly with the first dose, you don’t need to repeat unless the symptoms appear to be coming back again.
Do read the individual directions on each product (both on the label and in the How to Use in the product description) to ascertain whether usage differs to the suggestions here.
Our products are made up according to traditional homeopathic pharmacy protocols and include a small amount of pure alcohol as a preservative. You can read the FAQ here on alcohol in remedies.
For newborns, if you do not wish to put the drops in the mouth, you may apply to the soles of the foot or the top of the head. You can also purchase drops and add a spray top to your order, so that you can spray the remedy onto the soles of the feet. The remedy will work just as well whichever way you use it.
Babies under 6 months – 1 drop or 1 spray
Babies 6-12 months – 2 drops or 1 spray
12 months and above – 4 drops
Give 1 or 2 pilules per dose regardless of age.
Crush between 2 clean teaspoons if you are giving to a baby and you are uncomfortable with giving whole.
Sometimes the pilules can look wet. This is due to the nature of the organic sucrose. The alcohol – which is the remedy applied to the pilules – will evaporate off as you use your remedies. They should not stick together and this does not affect the effect of the remedies.
Homeopathy is about quality, not quantity!
All our creams are suitable for vegans, due to the way we make them and the based we use.
See the individual product description or the label on the product for how often to give.

With homeopathics, because we are working with energy, not substance, we want to give just enough to stimulate the body to do the job. If your remedy works brilliantly with the first dose, you don’t need to repeat unless the symptoms appear to be coming back again.
If you have selected a single tissue salt remedy or a combination, the general suggestion is to take three times a day for up to three months (as per Dr Schuessler’s advice). However, we would expect you would see improvement much sooner than this, likely as soon as a couple of weeks. If you have taken for one month with no obvious difference, choose another tissue salt or consult your homeopath.
