Bugg Off

Description

Bugg Off is a combination of traditional homeopathic remedies to help avoid bites from and build resistance to mosquitoes and other critters.

Bugg Off came about originally a couple of decades ago because my partner was so badly bitten every time we went on holiday and in the Western Australian summers. He was often jumping around the room batting at the mossies with a thong (flip-flop).

I created the product for him and it worked, so we trialled it with a range of clients over several years, who were either travelling overseas to areas where mosquitoes were prevalent, or who had a problem at home in Australia with being bitten and/or reacting badly.

The feedback was always positive as to how well this product worked to help stop individuals being continually bitten by mosquitoes and other insects, so we’re happy to share this product with those of you who are so tasty!!

When Bugg Off is taken daily while in an area where you may be at risk of being bitten (please read note below re mosquito-borne disease) you should find yourself less attractive to the mossies. In other words it helps reduce susceptibility to being bitten and spoiling a holiday or having to constantly deal with itchy, unsightly bites.

We do recommend that you always cover up and use other barrier methods at high risks times of the day/season and in high risk areas.

Please note

• Bugg Off is NOT a suitable product if you are travelling to an area where there is risk of mosquito-borne disease such as Dengue Fever, Malaria, Japanese Encephalitis and similar.
• Bugg Off should help stop you being attractive to the mosquitoes, but it does not provide additional support against the above diseases.
• Please enquire if you need this level of support and we will advise regarding our Mossie Mix product, which is practitioner-only dispensing due to TGA regulations on the ingredients.

To soothe and calm bites, use our Bites & Stings combination for itchy bites and swellings.

Bites & Stings is also available as a topical cream.

Dosage for Remedies

These notes are a general guide.

Homeopathy is not an exact science and while we can offer general suggestions as to how to give the remedies, each case will be a little different in terms of how often a remedy may be required to bring about improvement.

With homeopathics, because we are working with energy, not substance, we want to give just enough to stimulate the body to do the job. If your remedy works brilliantly with the first dose, you don’t need to repeat unless the symptoms appear to be coming back again.

Do read the individual directions on each product (both on the label and in the How to Use in the product description) to ascertain whether usage differs to the suggestions here.

Drops

Our products are made up according to traditional homeopathic pharmacy protocols and include a small amount of pure alcohol as a preservative.  You can read the FAQ here on alcohol in remedies.

For newborns,  if you do not wish to put the drops in the mouth, you may apply to the soles of the foot or the top of the head. You can also purchase drops and add a spray top to your order, so that you can spray the remedy onto the soles of the feet. The remedy will work just as well whichever way you use it.

Babies under 6 months – 1 drop or 1 spray

Babies 6-12 months       – 2 drops or 1 spray

12 months and above   – 4 drops

Organic German Sucrose

Give 1 or 2 pilules per dose regardless of age.

Crush between 2 clean teaspoons if you are giving to a baby and you are uncomfortable with giving whole.

Sometimes the pilules can look wet. This is due to the nature of the organic sucrose. The alcohol – which is the remedy applied to the pilules – will evaporate off as you use your remedies. They should not stick together and this does not affect the effect of the remedies.

Homeopathy is about quality, not quantity!

Creams

All our creams are suitable for vegans, due to the way we make them and the based we use.

Directions for Use

Tissue Salts

If you have selected a single tissue salt remedy or a combination, the general suggestion is to take three times a day for up to three months (as per Dr Schuessler’s advice). However, we would expect you would see improvement much sooner than this, likely as soon as a couple of weeks.  If you have taken for one month with no obvious difference, choose another tissue salt or consult your homeopath.

Bottle Sizes

10g pilules: approximately 110 pilules

30ml drops: approximately 120 doses at 4 drops per dose

50ml drops: approximately 200 doses at 4 drops per doses

Give Bugg Off twice a day while in high risk areas to help stop the critters from biting you.

If you are wanting to build resistance because you live permanently in a high risk area, you could give twice a day for one month and then reduce to twice a week to support the system.

Please note: Bugg Off is NOT a suitable product if you are travelling to an area at risk of mosquito borne disease such as Dengue Fever, Malaria, Japanese Encephalitis and similar. It should help stop you being attractive to the mosquitoes, but it does not provide additional support against the above diseases.

Please enquire if you need this level of support and we will provide information on our Mossie Mix product, which is not available in-store at this point due to TGA regulations around the ingredients.
